Three things you can do now to achieve your ideal weight

Make healthy choices: When you’re hungry, make a healthy choice. Healthy food can be delicious, and it provides you with the energy you need for your day. On occasion, when something healthy doesn’t satisfy you, choose a small portion of the food you feel you need to eat. Use the four-bite rule. The memory of the taste of food peaks after four bites, so stop eating then. It isn’t going to taste better if you continue to eat more.

Stay focused on your ideal weight: Achieving a new and healthy life might not be easy at first, but it will be one of the most rewarding gifts you ever give yourself. You deserve to have and be anything your mind can create, in all areas of your life. Today is your chance to focus and look for what is rightfully yours.

Keep a record: When you recognize the emotion that has caused you to overeat, make a note in your journal or even make a separate section for “Triggers.” After a while, you’ll notice a pattern will surface that allows you to avoid those situations or learn how to better manage them.

Here are some questions to ask yourself. Write down your detailed answers in your journal.

1. What will your life be like when you reach your ideal weight?
2. How will the quality of your life change once you reach your goal?
3. What will this mean for you and your family?
4. How will your confidence and belief in yourself change?

Pay attention to your answers and let go of anything holding you back. Remember to focus on the image in your mind of you at your ideal weight; feel a smile on your face and a sense of accomplishment in your heart.

Blast the Fat Workout

I just prepared a home workout for a client to do on off days from the gym. I thought I would share it with you here as well.

Warm Up:
Ankle Rolls (ball of foot on floor; heel off – rotate ankle in circles 10 one way; 10 the other way) 10 on each footleg swings
Leg Swings: Stand tall, swing leg front and back. Keep leg straight and upper body straight. Do not lean forward or back. 10 reps on each leg
Hips Circles: Stand with feet shoulder width apart; hands on hips. Roll hips in big circles – 10 one direction; 10 opposite direction
Arm Circles: Stand tall with good posture. Make large circles with arms; 10 one direction 10 other direction.

These circuits are to be done quickly, but with good form.

Circuit #1: 15 reps on each exercise; 10 second rest in between exercises.
Squats
Push Ups – can be done against counter (at hip height)
Hip Bridges

Hip Bridges

Hip Bridges


Split Squats (lunges in place, 15 reps each leg)
Plank – 30 second hold

Perform this circuit 2x thru, 30-second rest and onto #2

Circuit #2 – (6 reps on each exercise; 10 second rest in between exercises)

Rear Lunges – 6 each leg
Push Ups

Mountain Climbers

Mountain Climbers


Squats
Bridges
Mountain Climbers-6 reps each leg, alternating. Fast in and out.
Push Ups
Reaching Lunge (lunge forward, touch floor)
Reaching Lunge

Reaching Lunge


Jumping Jacks

Rest 30 seconds and repeat this circuit once more.

Fat Blaster for end:

20 seconds on/10 seconds off

Jumping Jacks alternating with mountain climbers x 8. (You will end up doing 4 of each).
